MSP Terminal 2 Map: Gates, Security, Check-In and Transport

Use this guide as a text version of the official interactive MSP Terminal 2 map. The useful way to read the building is by level and landmark: start at Ticketing on Level 1, move to security on Level 2, and use the Orange or Purple ramp names to orient yourself.

• Level 1: the Ticketing Lobby for tickets, boarding passes and checked luggage.
• Level 2: both TSA security checkpoints, positioned by the Orange and Purple parking-ramp skyways.
• Orange Ramp side: the route to the Terminal 2 METRO Blue Line station begins near Ticketing on Level 1 and continues via the Orange Ramp skyway.
• Purple Ramp side: app-based ride pickup is on the ramp's second level.

The Metropolitan Airports Commission, which operates MSP, provides an official interactive terminal map. Printed maps are also available at information desks. Save the map before travel if you want it available without a connection.

Which airlines use MSP Terminal 2?

MSP assigns Frontier, Icelandair, Southwest and Sun Country to Terminal 2. Check the airline shown on your boarding pass before driving to the airport because Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 use separate roadways.

If your airline is not in that list, verify its current terminal on the official MSP terminal-information page or with the airline. Airline and airport arrangements can change, so confirm the official source before flying.

How to navigate Terminal 2 for a departure

1. Confirm Terminal 2. Match the airline on your boarding pass against MSP's current terminal list.
2. Go to Ticketing on Level 1. This is where MSP directs passengers for ticket purchases, boarding passes and checked luggage.
3. Move to Level 2 for TSA screening. Look for the checkpoints beside the Orange and Purple ramp skyways.
4. Check the departure display after security. Follow the live gate assignment on your boarding pass, airline app or airport display rather than relying on a saved gate location.

Terminal 2 security map

MSP says Terminal 2 has two TSA checkpoints on Level 2 near the Orange and Purple ramp skyways. Checkpoint 1 opens from 4 a.m. until the last scheduled departure. Checkpoint 2 opens from 4 a.m. to 5:15 p.m. and is limited to TSA PreCheck, MSP RESERVE and Priority passengers.

How to move between Terminal 2 and Terminal 1

MSP directs travelers between terminals on the METRO Blue Line. From Terminal 2 Level 1 near Ticketing, take the elevator or escalator to the Orange Ramp skyway, follow the rail signs, then descend to the platform. MSP says no ticket is required between the airport terminal stations and that inter-terminal service runs 24 hours a day.

Driving, light rail and rideshare landmarks

• Driving address: 7150 Humphrey Drive, Minneapolis, MN 55450. MSP's official directions route drivers toward the 34th Avenue exit and onward signs for Terminal 2.
• Light rail: the station is on the north side of the Orange Ramp. Blue Line trains also connect with downtown Minneapolis and Mall of America.
• App-based ride pickup: go to the second level of the Purple parking ramp.
