MSP's terminal information page includes Lufthansa in Terminal 1 but does not show a concourse for it on the airport's current Flights & Airlines listing. Confirm Lufthansa's gate on your boarding pass or with the airline instead of assuming a concourse.

Where are check-in and baggage claim?

MSP Airport places Terminal 1 airline check-in and bag check in the Ticketing Lobby on Level 2. It is reached from the upper roadway and sits one level above baggage claim. If you are being dropped off for a departing flight, follow signs for ticketing rather than arrivals.

1. Confirm Terminal 1. Check the airline on MSP's official list and compare it with your itinerary.

TSA checkpoints at Terminal 1

The North and South TSA checkpoints are on the Ticketing level. MSP says both serve all passengers and at least one is open 24 hours per day. The airport currently describes the Skyway Security Checkpoint on the Concourse C/G connector bridge as temporarily closed. Checkpoint #7 on Concourse G is reserved for international connecting travelers.

MSP Airport advises travelers to arrive two hours before domestic flights and three hours before international travel. This is airport guidance for time to check bags, complete screening and reach the gate; your airline may give trip-specific instructions.

For carry-on liquids, follow the TSA 3-1-1 rule. TSA permits one quart-sized bag of liquids, aerosols, gels, creams and pastes, with each container limited to 3.4 ounces or 100 milliliters. How to get from Terminal 1 to Terminal 2

Take the METRO Blue Line for an inter-terminal transfer. MSP Airport says there is no charge and no ticket is needed between the two airport stations. Service between the terminals operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

The Terminal 1 station is below the Red, Blue and Silver parking ramps. From the Tram Level, one level below baggage claim, take the tram toward those ramps and follow signs to the METRO Blue Line station. MSP also offers a complimentary inter-terminal shuttle as an alternative for passengers with mobility challenges or special needs.
