Use the official interactive map of MSP Airport with your current boarding pass. Start by choosing Terminal 1 or Terminal 2, then locate the concourse letter and gate number. MSP Airport says the terminals use separate roadways, so confirming the terminal before you drive is the most important first step.

Step 1: find the right MSP terminal

Match your airline to MSP Airport’s current terminal list before opening a gate view. Terminal 1 serves Aer Lingus, Air Canada, Air France, Alaska Airlines, American Airlines, Delta Air Lines, Denver Air, Discover, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, Lufthansa, United Airlines and WestJet. Terminal 2 serves Frontier, Icelandair, Southwest and Sun Country.

After checking the airport list, confirm the terminal on your boarding pass or with your airline. This matters when driving because MSP says Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 are accessed from separate roadways.

Step 2: read the map in the right order

1. Select the terminal. Open the official MSP map and choose the terminal shown by your airline or boarding pass.
2. Match the concourse letter. Terminal 1 uses A through G; Terminal 2 uses H.
3. Find the complete gate code. Search for the letter and number together, such as E2 or H9, rather than searching only for the number.
4. Check your starting point. Locate ticketing, security or baggage claim, depending on where you are entering the route.
5. Verify before walking. Recheck the gate on an airport display or in the airline’s current flight information.

How to transfer between MSP terminals

Follow MSP signs to light rail transit when you need to change terminals. MSP Airport says the train stops at both terminals, no ticket is needed between the airport terminal stations, and there is no charge for that inter-terminal ride.

At Terminal 1, MSP places the light-rail station below the Red and Blue Ramps; from the Tram Level, take the tram toward those ramps and follow the station signs. At Terminal 2, the station is on the north side of the Orange Ramp, reached by following signs from Level 1 near Ticketing through the Orange Ramp skyway.

Security, ID and liquids on the map

The map shows where screening is located, while TSA sets screening policy. MSP says Terminal 1 passengers may use the North or South checkpoint on the Ticketing level. Terminal 2 checkpoints serve Concourse H; operating access can change, so check MSP’s live security page and follow signs at the airport.

For packing, TSA’s liquids rule allows a quart-sized bag for liquids, aerosols, gels, creams and pastes in carry-on baggage. Containers are limited to 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) or less per item. Arrivals, pickup and a wrong-terminal recovery plan

For an arrival, first confirm the terminal and follow signs to baggage claim or the pickup area shown on the official map. Share the terminal name with the person collecting you; sending only “MSP” can put the driver on the wrong roadway.

If you reach the wrong terminal, do not guess at an indoor walkway. Confirm the correct terminal with your airline, follow airport signs to light rail and use the inter-terminal trip described by MSP.
