The airline confirms the terminal, but it does not promise one permanent gate or concourse, so use your current boarding pass and the airport displays for the final walk.

American Airlines uses MSP Terminal 1. American lists the MSP airport address as 4300 Glumack Road, Terminal 1–Lindbergh, St. Paul, Minnesota, and identifies its ticket counter as Terminal 1–Lindbergh.

American Airlines check-in at MSP

American's MSP page confirms that its ticket counter is in Terminal 1–Lindbergh. It also lists self-service check-in and mobile boarding passes as available, while curbside check-in is listed as unavailable. If your trip requires document review, bag drop or help from an agent, plan to use the in-terminal counter rather than looking for curbside service.

American also lists TSA PreCheck and priority benefits as available at MSP. Eligibility on a particular trip depends on what appears on the traveler's boarding pass, so confirm the indicator before joining a dedicated lane.

Security checkpoints at MSP Terminal 1

MSP Airport says Terminal 1's North and South checkpoints are on the Ticketing level and can be used by all passengers. The airport also says one of these checkpoints remains open throughout the day. Follow current signs and staff direction rather than choosing a route from an old terminal guide.

The Skyway Security Checkpoint on the Concourse C/G connector bridge is temporarily closed, according to MSP. Checkpoint 7 on Concourse G is reserved for international connecting travelers. For an ordinary American Airlines departure beginning at MSP, use the North or South checkpoint unless airport staff direct you elsewhere.

TSA liquids rule

TSA allows one quart-sized bag of liquids, aerosols, gels, creams and pastes in carry-on baggage. Each container must hold no more than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters). TSA says larger containers should go in checked baggage, and an item that alarms can require additional screening.

For an unusual item, check TSA's official What Can I Bring? list before packing. TSA warns that even a generally permitted item may receive additional screening or be refused at the checkpoint if it triggers an alarm, appears tampered with or creates another security concern.

TSA says REAL ID enforcement began on May 7, 2025. For domestic travel, bring a REAL ID-compliant card or another identification document TSA accepts. TSA identifies a passport as an acceptable alternative to a REAL ID driver's license or identification card.
